TESTING TESTING TESTING
We are testing a new (and hopefully improved) spam filter. The only true way to see if it's working is to leave it up and see if any spam-bots are able to post. We are currently monitoring the forum, so if any spam appears please do not e-mail the site owners, as we will already be on the lookout.

Thank you all so much for your patience, sometimes it takes quite a bit of time and effort to thwart the people writing these programs that try to ruin the experience for everybody. If this last attempt with this version of software does not do the trick, we will be moving on to another platform.

Not sure if this is covered in any area I haven't unearthed yet, but are all fluids the same?

That's a loaded question; I understand the water.  But, some nutrition experts/writers include all fluids in the daily totals, including coffee and pop/soda.  I drink about 4 cups of coffee early (less than 25 oz) and a caffeinated diet soft drink on work days for lunch.  Weekends, it's just the coffee.

Would you include these in our journals as fluid intake or not?

Thanks

I seem to have found the answer to my own question, but am still looking for other input.

According to info I found on the Mayo Clinic's site, all fluids can be used for your total count.  and that there is water in some of our food sources.

Not trying to derail any ideas from Chris and Harry, just basically admitting that I struggle to get enough fluid intake with my daily schedule.  Some days are better than others, but I'm usually going to come up short without a bigger effort on my part to make it happen.

I had the same question.  In Weightwatchers (where they also recommend the 6-8 glasses per day), they count ALL fluids as such, except alcoholic beverages.
