A lot of the speaking life is just a slog, but not this week. Spoke on Monday to 500 Texas Judges…a major treat for an old lawyer. Then yesterday to Portland to spend my 74th b’day w my oldest son, the wind farmer. And to visit the $250 million wind farm which he started. All by himself. Six years ago he was brown-bagging it to the site and sleeping in the VW with his dog to save money. Proud? Oh boy. Tomorrow, San Fran to see the daughter and speak to a bunch of doctors. Then Saturday to Chicago to dine with the owner of the Chicago Bears (and see the game the next day in his box). Never met him before…he likes the book.
It ain’t all glamour but it sure is this week.
