To my eternal shame, I did not try to row the Head of the Charles this weekend. But I am delighted to say that my new writing partner, Jennifer Saycheck (Ph.D. and Asst Prof at Tufts and much much more) IS rowing. In a single in the slightly scary 30-40 age bracket. She is shy about because she is not in great rowing shape, she says. And may even do worse than her last placement. Which was second! She is not used to finishing second, to say nothing of doing worse. Well… I happen to know the rest of her schedule and it is amazing that she does it at all. NICE WORK! and Good luck to her. More on the partnership to follow. But I will say this: it is nice to have a partner who is 37. Harry, whom I adore and admire intemperately, was getting old.
